Mounting the camera

1. Mounting strap
On the back of the camera are two mounting brackets
(17) for fixing the camera to a tree or post with a strap
or mounting harness. Pass the mounting strap (included
in the scope of delivery) through the two brackets and
fasten tightly with the buckle.
2. Tripod
On the back of the camera is a 1/4" tripod thread (8)
for mounting the camera on a tripod.

SET UP and ON mode

Your camera has two mode settings:

1. SET UP mode

Switch your DTC 500 camera to SET UP mode. Here you
can adjust the various functions of the camera as well as
the settings for the date, time, temperature etc. to be be
displayed on the photos or video sequences.

2. ON mode:

Switch your DTC 500 camera to ON. In this mode, your

DTC 500 will operate in accordance with the settings
made in the SET UP mode.
Note: The blue LED (3) in the center of the LED field
(1) flashes for approx. 10 seconds before the camera is
ready for operation.

Menu functions and settings

Live Preview
This option enables you to use the DTC 500 as a normal
digital camera. As with any common digital camera,
you can view scenes on the display and capture them
as photos or videos, which can be especially useful for
testing purposes while mounting the camera.
Select "Live Preview" in the menu. By pressing OK or
the the right arrow button, you will enter the camera
mode. You can switch between the camera and video
mode using the left and right arrow buttons.
Press MENU to return to the main menu.
