7 Mixing spraying agents and
filling the spraying agent tank
When handling the spraying agents, always
follow the safety instructions of these
operating instructions (pay special attention to
section 3.4) and the information provided by the
manufacturer of the particular spraying agent.
Before opening the spraying agent tank,
switch off the pump, unplug the charger from
the charging socket of the device and depressurise
the device! To depressurise the device, with the
pump switched off, hold the spray tube in the
spraying agent tank or in a suitable container for
the spraying agent and operate the shut-off valve
until no more fluid is sprayed.
Spraying agent volume:
Mix the spraying agents according to the
instructions provided by the manufacturer of the
spraying agent. Choose the appropriate volume
according to requirements.
Mixing spraying agents:
Only mix spraying agents out in the open. Never do
this inside living spaces, stables or in storage
spaces that are used for food or animal feed.
Never mix the spraying agent directly in the
spraying agent tank.
Spraying agents in powder form:
Mix the spraying agent in a separate container,
not in the spraying agent tank.
Ensure that the mixture is thoroughly mixed
before pouring it through the filling strainer into
the spraying agent tank.
Use the spray tube to thoroughly mix the
spraying agent in the tank.
Liquid spraying agents:
Fill 1/4 of the spraying agent tank with clean
water.
Then pre-mix the spraying agent with clean
water in a separate container according to the
instructions provided by the manufacturer of the
spraying agent.
Pour the pre-mixed spraying agent through the
filling strainer into the spraying agent tank.
Top up with the required amount of clean water
according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Use the spray tube to thoroughly mix the
spraying agent in the tank.
When using spraying agents that have been mixed
from herbal preparations, the liquid needs to be
pre-filtered before pouring it through the filling
strainer, as otherwise the strainer may become
blocked.

Filling the spraying agent tank:
Always ensure that the pump is switched off
(setting "O" of the pump toggle switch) and
that the shut-off valve (8) as well as the drain valve
(18) is closed (the lever should be set at right
angles to the hose) before filling any fluids into the
spraying agent tank. Take the device off your back
and place it on a suitable surface on the ground.
When filling the spraying agent tank, always use
the filling strainer located in the filler neck of the
spraying agent tank and observe the total filling
process.
Before filling the tank check the filling strainer for
dirt or damages.
Cleaning the filling strainer: See section 9.8
If the strainer is damaged, replace it by a genuine
SOLO replacement part (part no.: 42 00 104, mesh
aperture: 0.7 mm [0.0276"]).
Avoid any direct contact of the filling hose and the
contents of the spraying agent tank.
Fill level markings (4) are applied to the side of the
spraying agent tank (1).
The spraying agent tank has a maximum capacity
of 20 litres [5.28 gal] (top marking). When filling up
the spraying agent tank, ensure you do not fill
above the top marking.
Never allow the spraying agent tank to overflow or
public bodies of water, rainwater drains or sewage
drains to become contaminated.
Immediately wipe up any spilled spraying agent.
After filling, firmly close the spraying agent tank
cap (2) on the filling opening to prevent the
spraying agent from escaping.
