4. MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Task
Check the spoke tension, dish and wear of the wheel.
Check the rim for damage.
Clean with soft cloth and a suitable cleaning agent.
→ Do not use high pressure cleaners or aggressive cleaning
agents!
Check that the wheel is secured correctly
Check rim brake wheels (see chap. 4.1)
4.1 RIM BRAKE WHEELS INSPECTION
1. Remove any contamination (especially oil and traces of grease) from the brake surfaces.
2. Check the degree of wear of the brake pads. Remove any embedded foreign objects (grit, dirt,
debris, etc.).
3. Check the degree of wear on the braking surfaces of the rim.
→ In case of deformation of the brake edge, cracks, changes to the surface, or other
irregularities, the rim must be replaced, or checked by an expert.
4. If in doubt, or if there is any visible wear, have it checked by an expert.

4.2 DISPOSAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

The statutory regulations shall apply. Whenever possible, avoid creating waste.
Waste, especially carbon, lubricants, cleaners and any other fluids must be disposed in an
environmentally compatible manner.
