Spring washers
Installation
The spring washers are supplied in the screwed in length. The lock nut is released and
the threaded rod unscrewed until the spring washers have an installation length of
approx. 780 mm.
Adjusting the spring washers
Important!
It must be possible to move the drawbar installation 300 mm upwards and
downwards from the horizontal position before the compression spring reaches
the limit of its travel.
Turn the adjusting nut to pre stress the compression spring until the drawbar installation
moves down approx. 300 mm from the horizontal position (measured at the drawbar eye)
and is held by the spring washers.
The drawbar is fixed in the horizontal position. The bogie connection point with the
installation length of 780 mm means the connection point of the support device is on
the lengthways strut of the drawbar.
Tip:
If a lifting force of approx. 40 kg at the towing eye is exceeded, the spring washers must
be readjusted.

Caution:
Take care to position the spring washers correctly

Appendix 1
Gesetzliche Anforderungen an Höheneinstellvorrichtungen (international)
Statutory requirements on height adjustment devices (international) 94/20/EEC EC
Mechanical coupling devices directive (extract)
5.4.
Height adjustment devices for vertically pivoting drawbar installations.
5.4.1.
Vertically pivoting drawbar installations must be fitted with devices that make it possible
for the drawbar installation to be adjusted to the height of the hitch device or of the jaw.
These devices must be constructed so that the drawbar installation can be adjusted by
one person without the need for tools or other equipment.
5.4.2.
Using the height adjustment devices, it must be possible to move the towing eyes or ball
hitches from the horizontal position above the carriageway by at least 300 mm upwards
and downwards. The drawbar installation must be infinitely variable or adjustable in steps
of 50 mm, measured at the towing eye or ball hitch, within this range.
5.4.3.
The height adjustment device is not allowed to impair the easy movement of the drawbar
installation following the coupling procedure.
5.4.4.
The effect of an overrun brake must not be impaired by the height adjustment device.
