4.6 Taking the unit into operation with
coating material
1.
If the unit is located on a non-conductive sur-
face (e.g. a wood floor), earth the unit with an
earthing cable.
Danger
2. Pull retention pin (fig. 13, item 1) and swivel material
feed pump into the coating material container.
3. Turn the pressure regulating knob (2) on the hydraulic
pump to the left (pressure reduction) until it stops.
4. Turn the relief valve knob (3) three revolutions to the
left (k Circulation).
5. Start the gasoline engine as described in the engine
instructions.
6. Ball valve (4) on the material feed pump – set lever to
a vertical position – switch on hydraulic motor.
Hydraulic oil flows to the hydraulic motor of the mate-
rial feed pump.
7. Turn the pressure regulating knob (2) to the right
(pressure increase) until coating material exits the re-
turn hose.
8. Turn relief valve knob (3) to the right (p spray).
9. Pull the trigger guard of the spray gun, then set the
desired operating pressure by means of the pressure
regulating knob (2).

Spraying technique / Interruption of work
10. The unit is ready to spray.

5. Spraying technique

Move the spray gun evenly during the spraying process.
Otherwise the spray pattern will be uneven. Carry out the
spray movement with the arm, not with the wrist. Obser-
ve a parallel distance of approx. 30 cm between the
spray gun and the object of spraying. The lateral edge of
the spray jet should not be too distinct. The spray edge
should be gradual in order to facilitate overlapping of the
next coat. Always move the spray gun parallel and at an
angle of 90° to the surface to be coated in order to mini-
mize the paint mist.
If very sharp edges result or if there are stre-
i
aks in the spray jet – increase the operating
pressure or dilute the coating material.
6.
Handling the high-pressure
hose
Avoid sharp bending or kinking of the high-pressure ho-
se. The smallest bending radius amounts to about 20
cm.
Do not drive over the high-pressure hose. Protect
against sharp objects and edges.
Danger of injury through leaking high-
pressure hose. Replace any damaged
high-pressure hose immediately.
Never repair defective high-pressure
Danger
hoses yourself!
6.1 High-pressure hose
The unit is equipped with a high-pressure hose specially
suited for piston pumps.
Only use WAGNER original-high-pressure
i
hoses in order to ensure functionality, safety
and durability.
7.

Interruption of work

1. Close ball valve on material feed pump – lever position
horizontal.
Flow of hydraulic oil to hydraulic motor of material
feed pump is interrupted.
2. Turn the relief valve knob three revolutions to the left
(k Circulation).
