ADJUSTING THE SIDE PROTECTORS

RECARO Kio is equipped with the „Advanced Side-impact Protection"
system (ASP). 13. In order to increase safety in the event of an accident,
activate the side impact protection of the child car seat. To do so, lift the
impact protector 13 on the side of the child car seat facing the vehicle
door. Check proper locking of the impact protector 13 by pushing on it.
NOTE! Make sure, that the ASP 13 is fixed with an audible „CLICK" . In
case the ASP 13 touches the door, it ought to be stored away properly. It's
allowed to be used in this position.
NOTE! When using the RECARO Kio on a middle position in the vehicle,
it's prohibited to fold out the (ASP) 13 device. Using the (ASP) 13 device
for carrying or climbing into the child seat is prohibited.
NOTE! Even without the side protectors, the seat provides sufficient pro-
tection against side impact. If the vehicle has enough space available, we
recommend activating the side impact protector 13 on the side pointing
towards the vehicle door.

STRAPPING WITH HARNESS SYSTEM

NOTE! Ensure that the headrest 9 is correctly locked in place before using
the car seat.
NOTE! Ensure that the car seat is free from toys and hard objects.
• Loosen shoulder belts 12 by pressing the adjustment button on central
adjuster and simultaneously pulling both shoulder belts 12 up.
NOTE! Please always pull on shoulder belt 12 and not on belt pads.

REGOLAZIONE DEI PROTETTORI LATERALI

In RECARO Kio è montato il sistema da collisione laterale "Advanced
Side-Impact Protection" (ASP) 13. Per migliorare la sicurezza in caso di inci-
dente, attivare la protezione da collisione laterale del seggiolino auto. A tal
scopo sollevare la protezione anticollisione 13 posta sul lato del seggiolino
auto rivolto verso la porta della vettura. Controllare che la protezione
anticollisione 13 sia saldamente scattata in posizione esercitandovi una
certa pressione.
AVVISO! Accertarsi che la parte apribile sia innestata. Ciò viene conferma-
to con un "CLIC" udibile. Se il sistema ASP 13 tocca la porta, richiuderlo.
Un uso con un sistema ASP 13 chiuso correttamente è consentito.
AVVISO! Se RECARO Kio viene montato su un sedile centrale, non è
consentito aprire la protezione da collisione laterale 13. La protezione da
collisione laterale aperta (ASP) 13 non deve essere usata come manico per
il trasporto o come ausilio di salita.
AVVISO! Il seggiolino offre una protezione da collisione laterale adeguata
anche senza i protettori laterali. Se all'interno della vettura vi è spazio a
sufficienza, suggeriamo di aprire il sistema ASP 13 sul lato della porta.

ALLACCIARE LE CINTURE DI SICUREZZA

AVVISO! Prestare attenzione che il poggiatesta 9 si sia bloccato corretta-
mente prima di usare il seggiolino auto.
AVVISO! Fare in modo che nel seggiolino auto non siano presenti giocat-
toli o oggetti duri.
• Allentare le cinture di sicurezza per le spalle 12 azionando il tasto di
regolazione centrale e contemporaneamente tirare le due cinture per le
spalle 12 verso l'alto.
