14. Installation of the PDX cable in the harsh enclosure is now complete. Skip the
next section for preparing the PDX cable for the panel-mount enclosure and
proceed to the wire termination starting on page 2-18.
PDX Cable Preparation – Panel
Ground and shield terminations are a critical part of the PDX system's immunity to
noise and electrical surges. Prepare and install the terminal end of the PDX home
run cable as follows.
If the panel-mount IND560 PDX terminal is being installed inside an enclosure
and the PDX cable will enter through a gland, prepare the cable in the same
way cables are prepared for installation into a harsh IND560 PDX. This is
shown in Figure 2-18. Extend the length of the ground wire (Figure 2-19) and
the red, white and blue wires so they are long enough to reach the rear of the
IND560 PDX. The internal grounding and shielding do not need to be
extended, as they will terminate at the gland where the cables enter the
enclosure; install them as for the harsh enclosure.
