2 Safety Instructions
Liquids which are decomposed catalytically

tantalum. Take notice of the valve spring
material of the instrument version in use.
* Dissolved sodium azide is permitted up to a concentration of max. 0.1 %.

2.6 Storage Conditions

Store the unit and accessories in a cool and dry place in cleaned condition only.
Storage temperature from −20 to 50°C (−4 to 122°F).

2.7 Recommended application range

Select valves with valve springs made of platinum-iridium or tantalum according to the intended use.
The instrument can be used for the following dispensing media:
Dispensing medium
Ammonia solution
Bromine
Acetic acid
Hydrofluoric acid*
Sodium hydroxide, 30 %
Perchloric acid
Phosphoric acid
Nitric acid
Hydrochloric acid
Sulphuric acid
Water
Hydrogen peroxide

* Hydrofluoric acid slightly attacks the sapphire components (99.99% Al
release aluminum ions. Depending on the analysis method used (inorganic trace analysis), this can
lead to slightly increased aluminum blank values. To reduce the aluminum values, we recommend
discarding 3 to 5 doses of 2 ml each before the analysis.
Compounds that contain fluoride, such as NaF, attack tantalum.
This table has been carefully tested and is based on the most current information available. Always
observe the operating manual of the instrument and the specifications provided by the reagent manu-
facturer. If you need chemical hazard statements that are not on the list, you are welcome to contact
BRAND.
