18.3. Connecting to the inverter locally through its Wi-Fi network

The Wi-Fi communication network generated by the inverter has a 2.4 GHz wireless frequency.
The inverter acts as a Wi-Fi access point, generating a SoftAP network with an SSID similar to
Ingeteam_1GMxxxxxxAxx_MMMM. Follow the steps below to connect locally to this network:
Connecting with a smartphone or tablet
1.
Install the INGECON SUN Monitor app.

Log in as an authorized installer and press the

Connecting with a computer
1.
Connect to the Wi-Fi network generated by the inverter.

In the web browser, access the web application at http://169.254.1.1. You must log in as an authorized
installer.

18.4. Connecting the inverter to a Wi-Fi network

The Wi-Fi communication network that the inverter is to be connected to must have a 2.4 GHz wireless
frequency.
Ingeteam establishes a minimum Wi-Fi signal level received by the inverter of 50% (-75 dBm) to ensure an
optimum connection.
In order to connect the inverter to an existing Wi-Fi network, follow the steps below:
1.
Connect to the inverter locally (see

Access the Comms menu in the upper part.
3.
Select Wi-Fi in the left panel.
4.
Press CONNECT to Wi-Fi Network. A list of available Wi-Fi networks will display. Select the desired
network and enter the password if requested.

If the SSID identification name of a Wi-Fi network cannot be displayed to the user, enter the network name in
the Custom SSID field.

18.5. Connecting to the inverter remotely

To connect to the inverter remotely, it must be connected to the Internet through a Wi-Fi network or Ethernet. Once
connected to the internet, follow the steps below:
1.
Access INGECON SUN Monitor.
2.
Create a plant with the inverter's Device ID.
3.
Access the plant to see the installation monitoring. You can also access the unit's web application.
