Electrodes
The electrodes are fastened to the nozzle holding tube inside the burner sleeve and they generate a spark
that ignites the mixture of air and fuel. The distance between the electrodes must fluctuate between 0.11 in
and 0.15 in. Only if the gap is maintained in this range can you be certain that the spark has a proper canopy
effect which makes it possible to properly enter the diesel fuel spray cone so that the mixture burns perfectly.
It is important that, during normal operation, the electrodes do not become wet with diesel oil, otherwise
carbon deposits might create a bridge between the electrodes, preventing the spark from striking. The
recommended position is that shown in figure 16. If the electrode position is different from the recommended
one, the machine may have problems with smoke.

The electrodes (E) are to be installed on the flame disc (D). The entire electrode-flame disc unit is to be
subsequently installed on the nozzle holding tube (F), adjusted and fastened in the correct position with
screw (C).
