Extraction of combustion air from outside
In this case it is possible as an alternative:
• to channel the combustion air using a coaxial
exhaust pipe to expel the fumes and to extract
the air (Fig. 7 - A, B = Air inlet, C, D = Smoke
outlet); it is therefore not necessary to create a
tradition air intake in the room;
• connect the combustion air inlet of the appli-
ance to the air intake with a suitable duct (Fig.
8).

Extraction of combustion air in the room
Create the air intake on the wall (Fig. 9 - PA = Air
Intake), and leave the appliance free to bring air
into the room.
If the rear wall of the appliance is an external wall,
make a hole for the intake of combustion air at a
height of about 20-30 cm from the ground, re-
specting the dimension indications given on the
technical data sheet at the end of the booklet.
A non-closable permanent protection grid must
be placed externally; in areas that are particularly

windy and exposed to weathering, provide rain
and wind protection.
Ensure that the air intake is positioned so that it
won't be accidentally obstructed.
If it is impossible to create an external air intake
in the wall behind the appliance (non-perimeter
wall), a hole must be made in an external wall of
the room where the appliance is positioned.
If it is not possible to create the external air intake
in the room, an external hole can be created in
an adjacent room provided it communicates
permanently with a transit grille.
It is forbidden to take combustion air from ga-
rages, warehouses of combustible material or
places with activities at risk of fire.
If there are other heating appliances in the room,
the combustion air inlets must guarantee the
necessary volume of air for the correct operation
of all devices.
