5 Installation
Note
Cover the photovoltaic modules, for example
with fleece, or carry out the direct current
installation at night.
14. Connect the direct current cable to the photovoltaic
generator.
5.8

Installing the inverter

1.
Ensure that the load isolator on the inverter is at (0).
2.
Ensure that alternating current is not connected to the
inverter.
3.
Ensure that the circuit breaker is switched off.
4.
Ensure that the photovoltaic generator is not generating
current or is only generating a very low current when
connecting to the inverter.
5.
If required, check the polarity of the photovoltaic gener-
ator's direct current cabling.
6.
Connect the direct current cable to the inverter.
7.
Connect the alternating current cable to the inverter.
8.
Ensure that the country-specific requirements for oper-
ating a photovoltaic installation are complied with.
9.
Establish the power supply to the inverter (switch on the
circuit breaker).
5.9

Energy-storage system (optional)

Observe the installation instructions for the energy-stor-
age system.
5.10

Establishing the data connection (optional)

Observe the instructions for the products that are de-
signed to be connected to the inverter via a data connec-
tion.
Ensure that the requirements for cabling, scheduling and
addressing the externally connected products have been
complied with.
Maintain a clearance of 200 mm between data connec-
tion cables and direct current/alternating current cables in
order to minimise data transfer faults.
The inverter communicates with other approved products via
data connections.
The inverter has three interfaces for data connections:
Ethernet (RJ45)
For connecting to an Internet router in order to send data
to the web portal and to use a large number of the func-
tions of the photovoltaic installation via a browser.
2 x RS485 bus (RJ45)
For connecting with approved products, e.g. for energy
management.
Modbus (RJ10)
For connecting with an energy meter, for example.
Ask customer service which products are approved for
connecting to the inverter.
The following figure shows an example of the data connec-
tions in a photovoltaic installation with dynamic feed-in man-
agement.

With dynamic feed-in management, the first inverter reg-
ulates restriction of the feed-in in accordance with the max-
imum value required for the entire photovoltaic installation.
For further information on dynamic feed-in management,
refer to the instructions on the product's feed-in manage-
ment system or ask customer service.
5.10.1 Connecting the Ethernet
Alternatives 1:
1.
To ensure that the end user can set up the trans-
fer of yield data and event messages to the web
portal, for example, connect the inverter to an In-
ternet router at the Ethernet interface (RJ45).
Note
If you connect the inverter to a DHCP-
compatible Internet router, the inverter
automatically starts the unencrypted data
transfer to the server.

You can also establish a connection to the inverter
by also connecting a PC to the Internet router.
The inverter and the PC must be located in the
same network. As soon as the inverter is con-
nected to the Internet, the inverter displays its
own IP address (1) in cycles. If you enter this
IP address in the browser's input field, the web
server for the inverter opens.
