Possible cause
The stop switch is in the stop posi-
tion.
The starter pawls cannot move free-
ly.
Incorrect fuel type.
Incorrect adjustment of the idle
speed
The spark plug is dirty or wet.
The spark plug electrode gap is in-
correct.
The spark plug is loose.
The fuel filter is clogged.
Possible cause
Incorrect fuel type.

Procedure
Let an approved servicing dealer re-
place the stop switch.
Remove the starter cover and clean
around the starter pawls. Refer to
clean the cooling system and starter
pawls on page 56 .

Drain the fuel tank and fill with cor-
rect fuel.
Adjust the idle speed with the idle
speed screw T.
Make sure that the spark plug is dry
and clean.
Clean the spark plug. Make sure that
the electrode gap is correct. Make
sure that the spark plug has a su-
pressor.
