Proper use
The orbital sander has been designed for the following
applications:
• for sanding various materials,
• for sanding surfaces that are as flat as possible.
The product may only be used in the intended manner.
Any use beyond this is improper. The user/operator, not
the manufacturer, is responsible for damages or injuries
of any type resulting from this.
An element of the intended use is also the observance of
the safety instructions, as well as the assembly instruc-
tions and operating information in the operating manual.
Persons who operate and maintain the product must be
familiar with the manual and must be informed about po-
tential dangers.
The liability of the manufacturer and resulting damages
are excluded in the event of modifications of the product.
Please note that our products were not designed with the
intention of use for commercial or industrial purposes. We
assume no guarantee if the product is used in commercial
or industrial applications, or for equivalent work.
Explanation of the signal words in
the operating manual
DANGER
Signal word to indicate an imminently haz-
ardous situation which, if not avoided, will re-
sult in death or serious injury.
WARNING
Signal word to indicate a potentially hazard-
ous situation which, if not avoided, could re-
sult in death or serious injury.
CAUTION
Signal word to indicate a potentially hazard-
ous situation which, if not avoided, could re-
sult in minor or moderate injury.
ATTENTION
Signal word to indicate a potentially hazard-
ous situation which, if not avoided, could re-
sult in product or property damage.

General safety instructions for
compressed air equipment
WARNING
For your own safety, please thoroughly read this manu-
al and the general safety instructions before turning the
product on. If you give the product to third parties, al-
ways include these usage instructions.
Keep all safety information and instructions for future
reference!
• For multiple hazards: The safety instructions must be
read and understood before setting up, operating, re-
pairing, maintaining and replacing accessories on the
sanding sheet sander or on the polisher and before
working in the vicinity of the machine. If this is not the
case, it can lead to serious physical injury.
• The sanding sheet sander or polisher should be set
up, adjusted or used only by appropriately qualified
and trained operators.
• Do not modify this sanding sheet sander or polisher.
Modifications can reduce the effectiveness of the
safety measures and increase risks for the operator.
• Ensure that the safety instructions do not get lost -
give them to the operator.
• Never use damaged sanding sheet sanders or polish-
ers.
• The appliance must be inspected regularly to check
that the appliance is labelled with the rated values and
markings required in these instructions. The user must
contact the manufacturer to obtain replacement signs
if necessary.
5.1
Hazards due to ejected parts
• If the workpiece or one of the accessories or even the
machine tool itself breaks, parts can be ejected at
high speed.
• Always wear impact-resistant eye protection when op-
erating the sanding sheet sander or the polisher or
when replacing accessories on the machine. The level
of protection required should be assessed separately
for each individual use.
• Wear a safety helmet when working overhead. In this
case, the risks for other persons should also be as-
sessed.
• Ensure that the workpiece is securely fastened.
5.2
Hazards due to entanglement
• Choking, scalping and/or cuts can occur if loose-fitting
clothing, jewellery, necklaces, hair or gloves are not
kept away from the machine and its accessories.
5.3
Hazards during use
• When using the machine, the operator's hands may
be exposed to hazards such as cutting, abrasion and
heat. Wear suitable gloves to protect the hands.
• Operators and maintenance personnel must be physi-
cally able to handle the size, weight and power of the
machine.
• Hold the machine correctly: Be ready to counteract
the usual or sudden movements - keep both hands
ready.
• Make sure your body is balanced and that you have a
secure stance.
• Release the command device to start or stop in the
event of a power supply interruption.
• Use only lubricants recommended by the manufactur-
er.
• Safety goggles must be worn; the wearing of protec-
tive gloves and protective clothing is recommended.
