Adjusting the riving knife
• Undo the screw (3), insert the riving knife and
clamp it in place. The distance between the saw
blade and the riving knife (4)must not exceed 8 mm
and must be checked and, if necessary, readjusted
after each saw blade replacement. Never set the
riving knife tip deeper than the tooth base height
of the uppermost saw tooth. Set the riving knife tip
to a max. 2 mm under the peak of the uppermost
saw tooth.
The riving knife is an important safety device,
which guides the workpiece and prevents the
kerf closing behind the saw blade and the work-
piece rebounding. Note the thickness of the riv-
ing knife - see numbers stamped into the riving
knife. The riving knife must not be thinner than
the body of the saw blade and not thicker than its
kerf width.
Attention! Close the protective cover (5) again.
