Persons who operate and maintain the machine must
be familiar with it and must be informed about poten-
tial dangers.
In addition, the applicable accident prevention regula-
tions must be strictly observed.
Other general occupational health and safety-related
rules and regulations must be observed.
The liability of the manufacturer and resulting dam-
ages are excluded in the event of modifications of the
machine.
The safety, operating and maintenance specifications
of the manufacturer, as well as the dimensions speci-
fied in the technical data, must be observed.
7. Safety information
• We have marked points in these operating in-
structions that impact your safety with this
symbol: m
• Pass the safety instructions on to all persons who
work on the machine.
• Only use the machine when in a technically fault-
less condition, appropriately and in compliance
with the operating manual and with full knowledge
of safety and hazards! In particular, rectify malfunc-
tions that could impair safety immediately (or com-
mission rectification works accordingly)!
• Only use tools that comply with the European
standard EN 847-1.
• Follow the tool manufacturer's instructions for us-
ing, setting up and repairing tools.
• Observe all safety information and danger notices
on the machine.
• Ensure that all of the safety information and danger
notices on the machine are complete and in legible
condition.
• The circular table saw must not be used for cutting
firewood.
• Caution when working: Danger of injury for fingers
and hands due to the rotating cutting tool.
• Check mains connection cables. Do not use faulty
cables.
• Ensure that the machine is standing on level and
firm ground.
• Keep children away from the mains-connected ma-
chine.
• The operating personnel must be at least 18 years
of age. Trainees must be at least 16 years of age
and may only work on the machine under supervi-
sion.
• Personnel working on the machine must not be dis-
tracted.
• Keep the machine operating station free of chips
and wood waste.

• If a second person is working on the circular table
saw in order to remove cut workpieces, the ma-
chine must be equipped with a table extension. The
second person must not stand at any place other
than at the discharge end of the table extension.
• Only install saw blades that are well sharpened,
free of cracks and not deformed.
• Circular saw blades made of high-speed steel must
not be installed.
• The safety equipment on the machine must not be
disassembled or made unusable.
• The riving knife is an important safety device,
which guides the workpiece and prevents the kerf
closing behind the saw blade and the workpiece
rebounding. Note the thickness of the riving knife
- see numbers stamped into the riving knife. The
riving knife must not be thinner than the saw blade
and not thicker than its kerf width.
• Do not work without a cover hood when sawing.
• Lower the cover hood onto the workpiece during
every working operation.
• The cover hood must be horizontal above the saw
blade with each working operation.
• Ensure that you use the push stick with the longi-
tudinal cutting of narrow workpieces (smaller than
120 mm).
• Switch the machine off to rectify faults or to remove
jammed pieces of wood.

• Renew the table insert if the sawing gap has be-
come worn.

• Wear close-fitting clothing. Remove jewellery, rings
and watches.
• Observe the direction of engine and tool rotation -
see "Electrical connection".
• Only carry out modifications, setting, measuring
and cleaning work when the engine is switched off.

to stop.
• Switch off the machine to rectify any faults.

• The machine must be connected to a Scheppach
suction system for all operations. Observe the
proper use of the machine with this.
• All protective devices and covers must be installed
before any work is carried out on the machine.
• Circular saw blades made of high-speed steel must
not be inserted.
• The riving knife is an important protective device.
It guides the workpiece and prevents the kerf from
closing and the workpiece from kicking back.
• Note the thickness of the riving knife - see numbers
stamped into the riving knife. The riving knife must
not be thinner than the body of the saw blade and
not thicker than its kerf width.
