If the machine begins to vibrate
excessively. switch off the machine –
risk of injury! The complete machine, in
particular the cutting tool, must be
checked for possible damage and loose
parts. Damaged parts must be replaced
prior to further use, loose parts must be
fastened. STIHL recommends STIHL
specialist dealers.
In the event of a blocked cutting blade,
blockages in the discharge chute or in
the area of the cutting blade, stop the
engine immediately, allow the cutting
blade to come to a standstill and remove
the activation key and battery. Then
eliminate the cause of the fault.
The machine load must never cause the
engine speed to drop significantly. If the
speed drops, select a higher cutting
height setting or reduce the rate of feed.
If an engine overload occurs during
operation, the engine switches off
automatically and must cool down
before restarting. Causes of an
overload:
Mowing excessively high grass or
cutting height adjusted too low
Excessive rate of feed
Inadequate cleaning of the cooling
air guide (inlet slots)
Frequent switch-on operations within a
short period of time can also cause the
engine to overheat.
Do not attach objects to the handlebar.
It is not permitted to transport anything
or anyone, particularly children, on the
machine.

equipped with an overrun brake. The
overrun brake shortens the run-down
time until the blade stops – see also
"Switching off the machine".
Allow the machine to fully cool down.
Clean any dust and dirt from the
machine – do not use grease dissolving
agents.
Holding and guiding the machine
The machine is operated by one person
only – keep people, especially children,
and animals away from the work area.
Always hold the handlebar firmly in the
hand.
Guide the machine at walking pace only
– never walk or run.
