Never place hands or feet
under rotating parts and
do not touch the rotating
cutting blade. The dis-
tance to the ejector
provided by the handle-
bar must be strictly
observed – risk of injury!
Do not touch the cutting
blade when the engine is
running. Never open the
discharge flap or remove
the grass catcher box
when the engine is run-
ning. Due to the rotating
cutting blade – risk of
injury!
Do not mow at ambient temperatures
below +5°C.
Protect the machine
against rain – do not
immerse in fluids.
Do not leave the machine in the rain.
Exercise caution in wet conditions, on
slopes, uneven terrain, etc. – risk of
slipping!
Do not operate the machine in the rain or
during thunder storms, particularly when
there is a risk of lightning strike.
The switch and safety devices installed
in the machine must not be removed or
bypassed. Do not fasten the control bar
to the handlebar (e.g. by tying it).
Never operate the machine with the
handlebar folded down.
RMA 460
Do not switch on the machine if the
discharge chute is not covered by the
discharge flap or the grass catcher box.
Do not leave the discharge chute open.
Do not mow excessively steep slopes.
The machine must not be used on
slopes with an inclination of more than
25° – risk of injury!
Mow across the slope, never up or
down. Exercise particular caution when
changing the direction of travel on a
slope.
Check terrain: Solid
objects – stones, metal
parts or similar may be
thrown up by the machine
– risk of injury! – and can
damage the cutting blade
as well as property (e.g.
parked vehicles, window
panes) (damage to
property).
If a rotating metal cutting tool strikes a
stone or other hard object, sparks may
be generated, causing highly flammable
materials to catch fire under certain
circumstances. Dry plants and brush are
also highly flammable, especially in hot,
dry weather conditions. If there is a risk
of fire, do not use metal cutting tools
near easily flammable materials, dry
plants or brush. Be sure to check with
the appropriate forestry agency to
determine if there is a fire hazard.
Watch out for obstacles such as tree
stumps, roots, especially when moving
backwards and pulling the machine –
risk of tripping!
Work calmly and deliberately – only in
good light and visibility conditions. Work
prudently, do not endanger others.
Take timely breaks from work to prevent
fatigue and exhaustion – risk of
accidents!
When wearing hearing protection,
increased attention and caution is
required as the perception of sounds
indicating danger (screams, signal
tones, etc.) is limited.
Dust swirled up during work can be
hazardous to health. Wear a dust mask
if dust is generated.
Avoid contact with live wires – risk of
electric shock!
If the machine has been subjected to
stresses other than those for which it is
intended (e.g. violent impact or falling), it
is essential to check that it is in a safe
operating condition before continuing to
use it – see also "Before operation". In
particular, check the functionality of the
safety devices. Do not continue to use
machines that are no longer safe to
operate. If in doubt, consult a specialist
dealer.
Check the cutting blade regularly, at
short intervals, and immediately in case
of noticeable changes:
Switch off the machine, allow the
cutting blade come to a standstill
and remove the activation key and
battery.
Check the condition and tightness
of fit, look for cracks
In case of contact with foreign bodies,
check the cutting blade for possible
damage. The machine must not be
operated with a damaged or bent blade
shaft or engine shaft.
