f) Setting up the remote control and receiver
Open the battery compartment on the remote control and insert new or fully charged batteries. Ensure that the batter-
ies are inserted in the correct polarity (observe the plus/+ and minus/- markings). Replace the battery compartment
cover.
Switch on the remote control. Testing the remote control
Read the remote control instructions included with the product.
Switch on the receiver on the vehicle (see fig. 1, position "A"; move the switch to the "ON" position).
g) Testing the range of the remote control
To avoid losing control of the vehicle, test the functionality and range of the remote control before each use or after an
accident. A steering servo test is sufficient to test the range of the remote control.
Support the vehicle on the front axle to ensure that the wheels are above the ground (if the wheels are in contact with
a surface, the anti-slip tyres and weight of the vehicle may prevent the wheels from moving).
Only test the range of the remote control when the engine is switched off!
Follow the steps below:
• Switch on the remote control, and then switch on the receiver.
• Position yourself at approximately 50 m from the vehicle.
• Move the steering wheel on the remote control to the right; the wheels should turn to the right.
• Move the steering wheel to the left; the wheels should turn to the left.
• Release the lever on the remote control. The wheels should turn back to the initial position.
Never use the vehicle if the remote control is not functioning properly!
If the remote control does not function as described during the range test, determine the cause of the
problem before driving the vehicle. See section 15 for more information on troubleshooting.
