6.1 General information
X Chapter 6.3.4 „Cleaning cycles", page 76 provides information regarding
the cleaning cycles which must be adhered to.
6.2 Mouthpiece
The mouthpiece can be used several times, but must be cleaned with one of
the procedures described in chapters 6.2.1 to 6.2.3 before the first and each
subsequent use.
X The procedures in chapters 6.2.1 and 6.2.2 are suitable for cleaning
at home.
X The procedure in chapter 6.2.3 is suitable for cleaning in clinics and
medical practices.
6.2.1 Clean the Mouthpiece with isopropyl alcohol 70% (V/V)
X Pull the Mouthpiece out of the Cooling Unit while gently tilting it back and
forth. Pull off the Mouthpiece Seal Ring.
X Pre-clean the Mouthpiece with a soft hand brush under cold running water
(<40°C) with drinking water quality to remove coarse impurities.
CAUTION
Isopropyl alcohol 70% (V/V) is flammable and may easily ignite

• Comply with the manufacturer's safety instructions for isopropyl
alcohol 70% (V/V).
X Put the entire Mouthpiece in isopropyl alcohol 70% (V/V) for 5 minutes.
During these 5 minutes, move the Mouthpiece back and forth in the
isopropyl alcohol bath.
X Remove the Mouthpiece from the isopropyl alcohol bath and pour off any
excess isopropyl alcohol.
X Rinse the Mouthpiece for at least 30 seconds under cold running water
(<40°C) with drinking water quality. Ensure that the water flows through
the Mouthpiece.
X Dry the Mouthpiece with a clean kitchen towel.
