10. To reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug the power
pack from the outlet before attempting any instructed
servicing.
11. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from
the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally
occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, seek
medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause
irritation or burns.
12. Do not expose a power pack to fire or excessive
temperature. Exposure to fire or temperatures above
265° F (130 °C) may cause explosion.
13. Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person
using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure
that the safety of the product is maintained.
14. Do not modify or attempt to repair the power pack
except as indicated in the instructions for use and care.
15. Temporary outdoor use of equipment is allowed if these
instructions are followed:
a) The device shall be stored indoors and protected
from the elements;
b) The device shall not be charged outdoors;
c) When in use outdoors, steps should be taken to
reduce the exposure to rain, sleet, snow, and the like.
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
WARNING! RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES. A SPARK NEAR THE
BATTERY MAY CAUSE A BATTERY EXPLOSION. TO REDUCE THE
RISK OF A SPARK NEAR THE BATTERY:
1.
NEVER smoke or allow a spark or flame in the vicinity of a
battery or engine.
2.
Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets,
necklaces and watches when working with a lead-acid
battery. A lead-acid battery can produce a short-circuit
current high enough to weld a ring to metal, causing a
severe burn.
3.
Be extra cautious, to reduce the risk of dropping a metal
tool onto the battery. It might spark or short-circuit
the battery or other electrical part that may cause an
explosion.
4.
Do not permit the internal battery of the unit to freeze.
Never charge a frozen battery.
5.
To prevent sparking, NEVER allow clamps to touch
together or contact the same piece of metal.
