9. EXCHANGERS that work with sea water require special arrangements at the time of installation
and during operation due to the high salt content.
10. Fit an anti-fouling system at the inlet of the sea water intake circuit to prevent foreign bodies
which can cause localised corrosion from entering the EXCHANGER.
11. It is advisable to install appropriate galvanic anode devices in zinc/magnesium, whether alloy or
not, on the water flow upstream of the sea water inlet connection. The installation of these
devices helps control galvanic corrosion, since zinc/magnesium, in the galvanic series, is more
anodic than the construction materials of the EXCHANGER.
12. Check the type of electrical connection to avoid as far as possible the generation of induced
currents which may cause corrosion.
13. Marine EXCHANGERS are supplied with sacrificial anodes of zinc/magnesium positioned in the
rear part of the EXCHANGER.
14. Frequently check the degree of wear of the anodes to understand how aggressive the water is
and schedule maintenance and replacement of the anodes accordingly.
15. The complete consumption of anodes leads to corrosion of the heat exchanger tubes.
16. The consumption of the anodes can be verified by the outflow of water from relevant valve
which in operating conditions must always remain open for the check.
15. WARRANTY
Failure to comply with even a single point of the manual will automatically void the warranty on the
product purchased.
It is the responsibility of the end user to validate the CE conformity of the assembly / equipment
obtained.
