Best Practice for Attaching an Accessory to the
Radio
NOTE: To ensure proper operation, turn off the radio before connecting an accessory to the radio.
Procedure:
1. Attach an accessory connector to the side connector of the radio.
2. Secure the connection screw in a clockwise direction until tightened.

Charging the Radio
Prerequisites:

To avoid possible explosion:

Do not replace the battery in any area labeled Hazardous Atmosphere.

Do not discard batteries in a fire.
Procedure:
1. Turn off the radio while charging in a single or multiunit charger.
2. Place the radio in a Motorola Solutions-approved charger.
NOTE: If the radio must remain powered on in the multiunit charger, LMR PTT is not allowed as
possible degradation in performance may occur.
Result: When the radio or stand-alone battery is properly seated in the pocket, charging status is indicated
by the associated Charge Status LED. Refer to the charging indication label on the charger.
The battery is ready for use when the charging status is Steady Green.
NOTE: On a full charge, the PMNN4812_, 3400 mAh IMPRES 2 UL Div 2 Battery offers up to 11 hours
of run time.
