8.F ROOM EQ
The "Room EQ" function allows you to automatically calibrate your speakers according to the
acoustic constraints of your room.
The application, using your phone's microphone (APPLE) or an external microphone (AN-
DROID), will measure the frequency response of your CAPELLAs in your room at different po-

sitions and will automatically offer you a curve that compensates for most of the faults linked
to your environment.
Feasible measurements with Iphone 6S to Iphone 15, because of microphone stability, but better results
with the ZEN microphone especially below 40Hz.
After configuring the ZEN microphone (p.97), set the stop frequency then make any corrections to the bass
level for your room, start the measurement, a pink noise is emitted in the speakers, then move around your
room respecting the following rules, do not approach too close to the speakers (>1.5m), do not place the
microphone between you and the speakers, and finally take measurements at different heights.
The cycle lasts approximately 60 seconds but can be stopped after 15 seconds on IOS and 30 on AN-
DROID. A response curve for your part then appears showing the different defects if we consider a linear
curve objective. Then simply press 'calibrate' and the analysis and calculation of the data is launched.
The new corrected curve then appears, you can now listen to the difference between with and without cor-
rections from your application.
Below is a demonstration with an Apple phone:
Select 45 Hz as frequency.
Speaker levels
Click "Begin". To optimize the measure-
ment, move around your room keeping the
phone facing your speakers.
Wait between 30 seconds and one
minute for the measurement process to
complete.
The measurement carried out will be
represented by a red curve
Then press "Calibrate".
