HOOD SWITCH AND HARNESS INSTALLATION
1. Open the vehicle's hood.
2. Prior to installation, locate the hood switch connec
tor/harness (1) located just in front of the windshield
washer reservoir. If the connector/harness is present
it will be attached to the vehicle harness. If the hood
switch connector/harness is not present, use the
supplied wiring harness in the kit and refer to the
next section titled HOOD SWITCH AND HARNESS
INSTALLATION (IF FACTORY HOOD SWITCH
CONNECTOR/HARNESS IS NOT PRESENT).
3. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
Wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge
before further service.
4. Install the kit supplied Jclip (1) to the inner portion of
the radiator support just in from the windshield washer
resevoir.
5. Install the kit supplied hood ajar switch bracket (1) us
ing the kit supplied bolt (2) to the inner portion of the
radiator support. Tighten the bolt to 8 Nm (71 inlbs.).
