ALIGNMENTS
NOTES:
The
CD
player is an optomechanical precision
instru-
ment.
It
should be touched only on the aluminum
chassis
and not be exposed
to
dust.
The optlcal laser system can
be
cleaned with an airbrush.
Do
not
use any solvents,
they can penetrate
into
the
focussing mechanism and destroy
it.
The
CD
play mechanism is equipped with
self-lubricating
bearings that require no maintenance.

•
S~itch
the unit off and disconnect the power cord from
the AC outlet.
• Remove the CO play mechanism <Section 2.4.1).
• Place
the
removed die-cast
play
mechanism
(without
case)
under
a
light source.

• Place
the small

on the laser leos.
• Mount
the glass CD for aligning the optical system
on
the play meChanism.
• Move

the lateral offset should
not exceed 2.5 nm.
• Position
the
play
mechan,sm in such a way
that
the
snadow line runs perpendicular to the

arm, but
through

system. (Fig. 4.6)
• The lateral offset of the shadOw line should again
not
exceed 2.5 mm.
