5. Fit the new equipment connector with speech diaphragm and inhalation and
exhalation valves and insert the equipment connector so that the
midposition markers of the equipment connector and facepiece body line
up.
6. Fit the slip ring and new clamping ring.
7. Attach the hook to ensure the tightest possible fit of the clamping ring.
8. Push the support plate between the clamping ring and the slip ring; fit it into
the lower visor frame and align.
9. Compress the nose on the clamping ring with pliers until the equipment
connector is securely fitted in the facepiece body.
10. Attach the nose cup. Make sure that the edge is positioned in the groove all
around. The midposition markers of the equipment connector and the nose
cup must line up.
5.5.3
Replacing the valve disks on the valves
1. Pull out the old valve disk towards the inside.
2. Insert the stud of the new valve disk into the hole from inside, and pull it
towards the visor until the recess of the stud is visible.
The valve disks should make even contact with the inside surface.
5.5.4
Replacing the speech diaphragm or O-ring
1. Pull the nose cup out of the groove in the screw ring.
2. Unscrew the threaded ring with the pin spanner.
3. Turn pin spanner around and carefully insert it in the holes of the protective
screen. Do not damage the diaphragm.

4. Twist the speech diaphragm loose and remove it.
5. Remove the O-ring from the equipment connector using the sealing ring
lifter.
6. Check the speech diaphragm and O-ring and replace, if necessary.
7. Attach the nose cup. Make sure that the edge is positioned in the groove all
around. The midposition markers of the equipment connector and in the
nose cup must line up.

Replacing the exhalation valve disk
1. Visually inspect the exhalation valve disk (see "Visual inspection of the
exhalation valve", page 97).
2. Fit the exhalation valve cover. Ensure that it engages.

Replacing the inhalation valve disk
1. Pull the equipment connector out of the facepiece body (see "Replacing the
equipment connector", page 98).
2. Remove the old valve disk and fasten the new valve disk.
3. Insert the equipment connector in the facepiece body (see "Replacing the
equipment connector", page 98).

Transport the facepiece in a carrying box or mask bag.
