A minimum of three teeth should engage the workpiece at all times. The
workpiece and Saw Blade may become damaged if the gap between the blade' s
teeth straddles the workpiece.
The included Saw Blade has 14 teeth per inch (see Specifications).
REPLACING THE V-BELT
The Band Saw uses a size 0-506 V-Belt (#100). To
replace the V-Belt:
1.
Open the Pulley Cover (#101).
2.
Loosen the Bolt (#108) and press the Motor
(#115) toward the Body to release tension on
the old V-Belt (Fig. 28).
3.
Remove the old V-Belt from the two Pulleys
(#99, 105) (Fig. 29).
4.
Place the new V-Belt onto the proper Pulley
combination for the desired Blade speed (see
Table 1 in Adjusting the Cutting Speed).
5.
Adjust the position of the Motor to obtain
approximately 1/2 in. depression in the
V-Belt when applying pressure with your thumb.
6.
Tighten the Bolt to secure the Motor in place.
CLEANING
1.
Clean the outside surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Ensure
the Band Saw is unplugged to avoid an electric shock.
2.
Blow the dust out of the motor vents with dry compressed air periodically.
Wear safety googles and breathing protection while doing so.
LUBRICATION
