OPERATING THE BAND SAW
DANGER! When the tool is in operation, keep hands away from the saw blade
and the area it is being applied to. Failure to follow this warning will result in
amputation, serious personal injury or death.
WARNING! Never attempt to remove material stuck in the moving parts of the
Band Saw while it is plugged in and running. Turn off and unplug the Band Saw
before removing a workpiece with an incomplete cut.
1.
Before each use, inspect the Saw Blade (#66). Using a dull Saw Blade will
cause excessive wear on the Motor and will not produce a satisfactory cut.
Replace with a new Saw Blade when needed.
2.
If the Saw Blade teeth are so far apart that they straddle the workpiece,
severe damage to the workpiece and/or Saw Blade will result.
3.
After use, wipe the tool' s external surfaces with clean cloth and a mild
detergent or solvent. Avoid immersing any electrical part of the machine in
any liquids.
VERTICAL POSITION
WARNING! Cut only flat workpieces when the Band Saw is in its vertical
position. Never attempt to cut pipes or other round objects with the Band Saw
in its vertical position as losing control of the material can result in a serious
injury or amputation.
1.
Do not plug the Power Cord into an electrical outlet until all necessary
adjustments to the Band Saw are made.
2.
Remove the Locking Pin (#126) from the Body Frame (#93).
3.
Raise the Body Frame to its full vertical position. Turn the Support Plate
(#127) clockwise until it firmly locks into the Body Frame and insert the
Locking Pin to lock Body Frame into position (Fig. 23).
4.
Once all necessary adjustments are made, plug the Power Cord (#27) into
the nearest electrical outlet.
5.
Turn the Power Switch (#14) to the ON position.
6.
Check the Band Saw for correct Saw Blade (#66) tension or machine
vibration. Turn off and unplug the Band Saw and correct any problems
before using.
