Suitable harnesses
The ADVANCE SIGMA 7 is certifi ed for harnesses in Group GH (wit-
hout rigid cross-bracing - see section «Certifi cation»). The suspensi-
on points of the chosen harness should ideally have a carabiner dis-
tance of approximately 45 cm (just about equivalent to your shoulder
width) and a height of 40 to 48 cm.
The SIGMA 7 is neither suitable nor certifi ed for use with harnesses
in group GX (with effective cross-bracing). The use of such harnes-
ses can have a bad effect on both handling and extreme fl ight cha-
racteristics.
The ADVANCE SIGMA 7 is specially trimmed for use with an aerody-
namically streamlined harness. We therefore recommend a harness
with a speedbag, so that the high performance potential of the SIG-
MA 7 can be fully exploited. The ADVANCE IMPRESS harness is es-
pecially recommended: the SIGMA 7 is perfectly suited to this har-
ness, and was tested with it.
Caution: If you fl y with additional water ballast you should not
fi x the ballast container between the main hook-in carabiners.
A water bag supported in this manner may have the same

effect as active cross-bracing, and this can massively change
the glider's handling characteristics.
Info: Experience has shown that you can signifi cantly improve
your glide angle by using an aerodynamically streamlined
harness.
Weight range
The weight ranges of the different sizes are given in the section
«Technical data». The fi gures given there represent the total in-fl ight
weights. This includes the pilot's body weight, plus clothes, as well
as the weight of all the equipment (glider, reserve, harness, instru-
ments etc.).
Flying at the lower or upper limits of the weight range will have an ef-
fect on the paraglider's fl ying behaviour, but will not affect the pilot's
safety.
