Maiden run
Wait for a day with no more than a very light breeze, and seek out a stretch of water where you can easily sal-
vage the boat if something goes wrong. Charge up all the batteries and test the model's working systems one by
one. Check that all the parts which are not permanently attached are firmly seated. Now you are ready for the
boat's maiden run. Keep its speed low at first, and give yourself plenty of time to become familiar with its han-
dling. Don't allow the model to get too far away from the bank.
TIP: if the water pump does not suck in water immediately, push the bow of the model gently down into the water
with the pump running until water starts to flow. You will only need to carry out this action once.
We hope you have many hours of pleasure building and running your MULTIBOAT.

Notes on installation and use
The lamp housings are supplied in
the kit. When the boat is running,
only the navigation lamps, the
masthead light and the stern light
should be lit; the anchor light must
not be lit (it is only switched on
when the boat is lying at anchor).
The searchlights can be wired
separately; they should not be lit
constantly. To switch the lights on
and off we recommend micro-
switches (e.g. Order No. 3757),
which are actuated by the output
lever of a servo. The output lever
should actuate the micro-switch at
one end-point to switch the search-
lights on.
The radar antenna should be actu-
ated by a length of very thin steel
wire, which can be glued in the
rotating antenna. The rod is then
passed through the superstructure,
and connected to the geared motor
at the bottom. Glue a short piece of
round dowel (3 Ø x 5 mm) to the
rod inside the superstructure, and
connect the motor to the dowel
using a short length of silicone
tubing. The motor can be mounted
in the superstructure using a sup-
port made from scrap ABS sheet.
IMPORTANT: the rod and aerial
must rotate as freely as possible,
otherwise it will move jerkily when
the boat is running.
