FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
•
To fit the R&G Exhaust Hanger, the OEM pillion footrest mounting bracket needs to be removed.
•
To do this, remove the two mounting bolts on the riders heal guard as shown in picture 1
holding the reservoir in place so that the reservoir can be temporarily relocated to allow access to
the bolt. Place a soft cloth under the reservoir and rest it down so that it will not scratch the bike
making sure to keep the reservoir the correct way up to prevent leaks.
•
Remove the exhaust mounting bolt arrowed on the left in picture 2 and then remove the pillion
footrest mount from the bike by removing the final 2 bolts also shown in picture 2.
•
Place the two M8 button head bolts with a washer on each (item 2 and 3) through the new
exhaust hanger making sure the 7mm spacer (item 5) as shown in assembly diagram 1 is
placed between the hanger and the frame resting on the exposed thread. Then tighten loosely
making sure the spacers stay on the exposed thread spacing the bracket from the bike.
•
Place the final M8 bolt (item 2) through the washer (item 3) and through the new exhaust bracket
(item 1), then pass through the exhaust and fit the remaining washer and Nyloc nut (item 3 and
4) as shown in picture 4 and tighten accordingly.
•
Ensure the exhaust hanger is correctly fitted before tightening all bolts.
•
Please ensure when the motorcycle is being used that no parts are in such a position that they
may collide/damage other bike parts (this is particularly important if using after-market cans or
exhaust systems).
•
Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that no part of the exhaust hanger
or exhaust assembly fouls or comes into contact with other parts of the machine. Do
not ride the motorcycle until this aspect has been verified and you have compressed
the rear suspension (if appropriate to the design of the motorcycle) to test this
