Extended use or hard water can cause lime-scale deposits in and on various working
parts of your machine. This might reduce your machine's performance and have a
negative effect on the quality of the espresso.
Thus, SOLIS recommends regularly descaling your machine with a special descaling
agent (at least once every one or two months). Please follow producer-specific in-
structions for use on the bottle.
Proceed as follows:
1. Remove the portafilter. Pour the descaling solution into the water tank and fill
it to the MAX mark.
2. Plug in the machine.
3. Press the POWER-button. The button surround
will start flashing.
4. Place a large jug under the group head respectively
the portafilter and steam wand.
5. As soon as the machine reaches operating tem-
perature, the button surrounds will stop flashing to
light up permanently. Keep pressing the
button until water starts flowing. Hold down
the button until half of the descaling solution has
flowed through the group head.
6. Turn the Steam/Hot Water dial to ã and let steam escape through the wand for
approx. 2 minutes. Then turn the dial back to the Standby-position in the centre.
7. Turn the Steam/Hot Water dial to
through. Then turn the dial back to the Standby-position in the centre.
8. Take out the water tank after using up almost all of the mixture. Carefully rinse
it with fresh water to remove all descaling agent residues and refill it with fresh
tap water.
9. To clean the machine and rinse further descaling agent residues, repeat steps 3–7,
until only a little spare water is left in the tank.
NOTE: Please be careful to quickly wipe off any splashes of descaling agent on the
machine's chassis, as it could damage the surface.
ATTENTION: Never submerge the power cord, plug or the machine in water
or any other liquid. While descaling the machine, never remove the water
tank or allow the tank to run completely empty.
