long the appliance will stay in the pre-infusion phase to moisten the coffee grounds
and pour espresso into your cup until the desired amount is reached.
Proceed as follows:
1. Press and hold the
pre-infusion phase and stay in low pressure range until you release the button.
Tip: The longer you moisten the coffee grounds in pre-infusion phase, the more
the grounds will swell up and the stronger your espresso will be.
2. As soon as you release the button, the pressure will rise to optimal extraction
range and the appliance will extract at high pressure.
3. Once the desired amount of coffee is in the cups, press the
again. The coffee will stop flowing.
NOTE: Take care that the pressure needle is in the correct range while manually
preparing coffee. This will ensure that the espresso is extracted under ideal condi-
tions (see p. 81).

settings for the amount of coffee.
ATTENTION: The metal parts of the portafilter can get extremely hot.
