OPERATION OF THE
MACHINE
Read the Safety Instructions.
STARTING THE ENGINE
1. Set throttle control to 1/2. Ensure PTO is disen-
gaged and foot is not touching footpedal. If the
foot pedal is not in the neutral position, the
tractor will not start.
2. Turn the ignition switch counterclockwise and
hold to heat the glow plugs until the glow indica-
tor is no longer illuminated, approximately 20-30
seconds. This will allow the preheating chamber
to become fully heated.
3. Turn ignition key fully clockwise to the start
position and the engine will turn over and start.
4. Release the key when the engine starts and it
will return to the "run" position automatically.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 if engine does not start.
TO STOP THE ENGINE
1. Disengage the PTO drive to the cutting mecha-
nism.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Move the throttle control lever to the "slow"
position.
4. Turn the ignition key to the "off" position to stop
the engine.
TO REVERSE
Gently depress the rear part of the footpedal with the
heel.
NOTES:
Use complete foot to operate both forward and
–
reverse. Make sure neutral latch is pushed in.
Do not move pedal suddenly, always operate
–
slowly and smoothly. Never move pedal
violently from forward to reverse or vice versa.
