BLADE SHARPENING & REMOVAL (Fig.40 / 41)
When required, the cutter blades may be sharpened
either by filing or grinding. It is essential that the
balance of the blades are maintained.
NOTE: Always replace blades with original
Ransomes blades, do not use another
manufacturers blades.
•
Service the blades with the tractor turned off, and
the decks securely supported.
•
Do not overheat or weaken the blades.
•
If blade becomes cracked or bent, replace with a
new blade to ensure safe operation
•
f lift portion of blade is worn thin replace with a
new blade to ensure safe operation
•
Place block of wood W between blade and deck
baffle to prevent blade from turning during removal
•
Keep hands clear of rotating blades
Removing Blades
1. Remove the nut N from the top of the blade
spindle bolt
2. Remove the blade spindle bolt with the washer
and blade.
3. Replace the blade, washer and blade spindle
bolt.
4. Tighten to 100-140 ft-lbs (135-190 N-M)
FUSES (Fig.42)
Blade-type fuses in fuseholder F are used to protect
circuits identified on the nearby decal.
