The following information is displayed:
"PURGING AND MEASUREMENT REV-UPS WILL FOLLOW".
Press ENT.
The prompt "FULL THROTTLE" is then displayed automatically.
Push the accelerator pedal to the floor quickly and without
"jolting" and hold it there until the prompt "RELEASE"
appears. The first two rev-ups are for purging the engine.
Before the actual exhaust-gas measurement is begun, the
engine must be brought up to normal operating temperature in
accordance with the manufacturer's specifications in order to
purge the exhaust system of soot deposits.
After a short evaluation period, the result of the 1st measurement
appears.
Since the first measurement is taken during a purging rev-up, it is
not evaluated. It is identified KO1.
After 6 measurements, the mean value, the peak values in
descending order and the bandwidth of the last 4 measurements
are calculated. If the bandwidth if greater than 0.25 m
rev-up is performed (max. 8). If the measurements are within the
specified tolerance band, " EXHAUST-GAS ANALYSIS TEST
PASSED" appears in the display. This must be confirmed by
pressing ENT.
The following options are then displayed:
- Display measurement result
- Print out measurement result
- Print out curve
- End test
