7. Preparation for operation
Before installation and operation, observe all safety instructions and installation
notes in these operating instructions.
Only people with appropriate training are entitled to carry out work on voltage-
carrying parts (e.g. electricians). If you have not had such training, consult a
qualified electrician for such work.
Improper work on the voltage supply may lead to a life-threatening electrical
shock. Furthermore, you do not only endanger yourself, but also others!
Only use approved supply lines to connect the wireless dimmer.
The installation site must meet the following two requirements:
• availability of power supply
• good reception
It is therefore recommended to test the installation site for reception.
a) Select operating mode
See chapter 12 for a description of how to open the housing in order to change
the settings of the wireless dimmer.
Proceed with caution, danger to life! Before opening the housing of the
wireless dimmer, disconnect all poles from the power supply.
The wireless dimmer has three operating modes that are set by a jumper inside the device. See
the illustration on the next page, chapter 7. b).
Jumper in position „alt" (initial position, pin 1-2), „A"
when switched on, the dimmer starts at the level of brightness before last switching-off
Jumper not set, „B"
when switched on, the dimmer provides full brightness
Jumper in position „aus" (means „off", pin 2-3), „C"
when supply voltage is switched on, at first the light stays off
