Smoke protection
To ensure the functionality of fire and smoke protection doors a profile cylinder is absolute-
ly necessary! The classification key (see table below) shows the minimum requirements.
Attention: All CE-marked MZ doors for external use are supplied with a factory-fitted
dummy cylinder. When installed in conjunction with self-locking anti-panic locks, re-
placement fittings or similar, this dummy cylinder must be replaced on site by a profile
cylinder with suitable keys. If this is not done, the door is locked and must be opened
by force. Novoferm cannot be held responsible for any consequential costs resulting
from this.

For burglar resistant doors provide any ad-
ditional anchorings and observe indications
on wall thickness. When installing burglar
resistant doors in porous concrete, corner
and counterframes are always required.
Door hinges must be provided with addi-
tional hinge fixation (using a grub screw).
These fixations must be screwed in fully.
Depending on its classification, the door
must be equipped with security plates
conforming to DIN 18257:
– RC1N
= ES1
– RC2 (WK2) = ES1
– RC3 (WK3) = ES2
The profile cylinder must conform to DIN
18252, Class P2 BZ and on the exterior (on
the handle side) must lie flush with the se-
curity plate An pull-out protector integrated
into the profile cylinder is unnecessary if
the pull-out protector is already integrated
into the security plate.
When locking the lock it should be ensured
that the lock bar extends outward in two
steps and penetrates at least 15 mm into
the frame.
For installation of RC2 (WK2) or RC3 (WK3)
burglar resistant doors in porous concrete,
the porous concrete walls must be ad-
hesively bonded versions.
