The servo mounting tray is to be located within the cockpit opening allowing adequate space
for your chosen receiver battery. The weight and position of the receiver battery will
significantly influence the balance point. Carefully check the physical layout of all the
components bearing in mind the recommended centre of gravity.
Note: The servo mounting tray does fit in the fuselage opening! Turn it around carefully and
you will find that it will slip neatly into place. Don't be tempted to force it or to sand away too
much material which will result in a poor fit.
Start by tearing away the loose fabric strips on the inside of the fuselage opening, this will
ensure a good bond to the fuselage. Position the servo tray inside the fuselage opening and
ensure that it lies square and that the two Bowden cables are located above the servo tray –
in line with the servo cut-outs. The front edge of the servo tray ought to be about 250mm
from the nose. Now bond the tray into place. For best results apply a 100g/dm² fibreglass
cloth over the tray and part way up the fuselage sides and treat with a suitable laminating
resin.
Note: In the case of an electric glider, some may wish to make the servo tray removable so
as to provide maintenance access to the motor compartment.

Loosely assemble the flight battery tray with its vertical support piece and guide rails and
check the position in the fuselage – as shown.
The front (leading edge) of the battery tray protrudes about 40mm into the cockpit opening –
as shown.
Having carefully marked the position of all the components, the guide rails are now bonded
firmly to the inside of the fuselage using a suitably thickened epoxy resin and the vertical
support piece is glued to the battery tray. Allow both to cure thoroughly before reassembling
in the fuselage – as shown.

Note: Complete this step only once the RC installation has been finalised. In the case of
an electric powered glider, the precise positioning of all the components installed in the
nose of the fuselage will depend to some degree on your choice of motor, flight-pack and
receiver battery. Check the physical layout of all the components, bearing in mind the
recommended centre of gravity point.
Once satisfied with the position of all the components – drill a 3.5mm hole through both guide
rails and the battery tray on both sides and secure with the Steel self-tapping screws
supplied in the Accessory Pack.

Preparing the fuselage push-rods

Temporarily install the rudder and elevator servos in the cut-outs in the servo mounting frame
according to the instructions supplied with the servos. Cut the control linkages to length and
