It is very important that the Receiver Battery be selected to match the intended use. The
capacity ought to be sufficiently generous to cope with the load of the on board radio control
system (it's always more useful to have more battery capacity than lead nose-weight!).
Considering the use of up to 11 servos, we recommend a battery pack of at least 3000 mAhr
capacity (C ) of good quality and always well maintained. For long duration thermal flights we
would further recommend a redundant receiver power supply, with battery backer and an
electronic monitoring system.
In the case where an electric motor is to be installed, we recommend the use of a separate
battery for the receiver - rather than the use of the BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit) built into
your Electronic Speed Controller.
