6. USING THE FUEL SWITCH
INITIAL SWITCHOVER TO GAS (LPG/CNG)
Press the button 1 to switch over from petrol operation (orange LED
to gas operation. The green LED 2
condition the car will still be running on petrol. When all the conditions
necessary for switching over are in place, the control unit will switch over
automatically from petrol operation to gas. The orange LED
goes out and the green LED 2 will be on.
SUBSEQUENT SWITCHOVERS
If the car has been switched off while running on gas, when the dashboard
lights up the switch indicates the quantity of gas in the tank, the gas
operation LED 2 will flash while the petrol operation LED
When the car is started, it initially runs on petrol and the EASY FAST system
will wait to be enabled by the electronic control unit to switch to gas.
The switchover occurs as soon as the enabling signal is received: the gas
operation LED 2 lights up (green) and the petrol operation LED
The engine always starts on petrol, when the engine is cold, and it then
switches to gas. Depending on how the system is configured, but only when
the engine is warm, the car can start directly on gas.
CHANGEOVER TO PETROL BECAUSE THE GAS HAS RUN OUT
When the switch is in reserve and the gas pressure drops below a preset
value (for example when the gas runs out), the control unit switches
automatically to petrol. This occurs to prevent the engine from running
with a mix that is too lean and which could therefore damage the catalytic
converter. When switching to petrol occurs because of low gas pressure, the
orange petrol operation LED 3 on the fuel switch goes on, the gas level LEDs
4 and 5 alternately flash and the buzzer sounds. To turn off the signal of
gas ended, while the car runs on petrol, you must press the button 1 once.
After switching to petrol, the car will continue to run on petrol until the gas
tank is filled again and the switchover button 1 is pressed again to switch
to gas. Once the tank is filled and all the conditions for the switchover are
placed, the green led 2 lights up firmly, the orange led
car runs on gas.

EMERGENCY OPERATION
If the car cannot start with petrol (for example if there are problems with the
petrol pump etc.), it is possible to start it directly with gas.
To do so, push the fuel switch and hold down while you turn they key to start
the engine.
ATTENTION
Starting directly with gas is deemed to be an emergency operation. Its
repeated use can lead to catalytic converter damage and cause the
'check engine' indicator to come on. To prevent such damage, only 20
emergency starts are envisaged. After this the software will block this
function until the Lovato Gas Authorised Installer resets the counter.
