Temperature Validation

To validate is to check the built-in temperature sensor using an external measuring
system . The validation set consisting of a type K thermocouple and a holder was
designed for this purpose . Validation helps boost the reproducibility of welds . The
validation process consists of several stages . These stages are:
1. Choose temperature Validation menu
To be able to execution a validation, an initialised device is required . The Validate
sequence is called up via the corresponding symbol in the menu . Only the Supervisor
user group has access to the validation icon in the menu .
2. Install blade
Close the cover after the blade is inserted . The device now runs with the drives to the
positions for validation . The cover then opens automatically .
3. Click in validation set
The validator sensor is clicked into the holder provided for it, see Chapter 5 .2 Famil-
iarizing yourself with the device . Once the sensor is locked into place, close the cover
and press the Start button .
The cable of the temperature sensor must be free to move.
Use only a calibrated gauge for the temperature measurement.
An automatic sequence controls three predefined blade temperatures for 10 seconds
each . The predefined temperatures are displayed on the touch screen as soon as they
are reached . The validation is finished when the cover opens .
4. Remove validator set
The sensor can now be removed from the holder . Close the cover . The drives are
brought back to the starting position .
5. Remove blade
To finish the process of validation, you must remove the blade with the blade remover
tool and then exit the Validate menu by pressing the Cancel button .
If the user executes an abort, please follow the instructions on the
operator control.
