Read manual before operating machine.
Use caution while operating on slopes, especially when
grass is wet. Wet grass reduces traction and steering control.
• Do not use this machine on slopes greater than 16.2°.
• Always keep reels in mow position when operating on
slopes and travel at reduced speeds.
• Do not make sharp maneuvers when on slopes.
• Keep shields in place and hardware securely fastened.
• Before you clean, adjust or repair this equipment, disen-
gage all drives, stop engine and apply brake.
• Keep hands, feet and clothing away from moving parts.
• Never carry passengers.
• Keep bystanders away.

To prevent injury:
• Always connect red battery cable to the positive (+)
post FIRST and the black cable to negative (-) post
LAST.
• When removing the battery, always remove, nega-
tive (-) cable FIRST and positive (+) cable LAST.
• Avoid contact with battery acid.
• Keep sparks and flames away from the battery.
• Do not short circuit battery posts. Do not touch frame
or negative terminal when working on positive termi-
nal.

To Install Battery:
1. Install battery with terminals toward rear.
2. Secure battery to support.
3. Connect positive (+) FIRST.
4. Connect negative (-) (black) LAST.
To use jumper cable:
1. Stop the engine with the good battery.
2. Connect RED cable to positive (+) terminal on good
battery and to positive (+) terminal on "discharged"
battery.
3. Connect the BLACK cable from negative (-) terminal
on good battery to frame of vehicle with discharged
battery.
4. Start the engine.
