Using the device
c) Volume control
• Set the volume of the connected amplifier to minimum.
• Move the channel fader (10), the ZONE fader (17), and the MASTER fader (14) to the minimum position as well.
• Turn the GAIN control (7) to the middle position.
• Use the input selection switches (9) to select the desired channel input.
• Start the connected playback device, e.g. a CD player. If this device has a volume control, set the volume to about
75% of the maximum level.
• Slide the respective channel fader (10) all the way to the top.
• Push up the MASTER fader (14) until the maximum level is shown on the level indicator (11). 0db should not be
exceeded.
• Now set the desired maximum volume using the volume control on the amplifier. Make sure that the sound is not
distorted.
• Use the controls of the equalizer (6) to modify the playback sound. The EQUALIZER switch (22) must be
activated.
• Use the MASTER BALANCE control (13) to set the volume balance between the left and the right master channel.
• Repeat the setting for all mixer channels. All channels should be set to about the same volume so that there are
no great differences in volume between the channels when crossfading. Otherwise you would have to readjust
the output signal. Differences in volume between the channels can be balanced using the GAIN controls (7).
• After you have made these settings, only use the MASTER fader (14) when you want to change the playback
volume.
• The volume and the balance of the amplifier connected to the ZONE connection (44) can be adjusted using the
ZONE fader (17) and the ZONE BALANCE control (16).
Make sure that the connected loudspeakers and the amplifier are not overloaded. The sound
should never be distorted.
If there are distorted music signals even though the volume on the amplifier has not been set
too high and the mixer has been set correctly, switch off the mixer immediately and check the
connection. If the connection is correct, please contact a specialist.
