DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT

The Artigator comprises 3 parts for articulating dual

arch impressions and fabricating a precise sectioned

working model in one single process. The Artigator

concentrates on functioning efficiently and straight-

forward, timesaving handling. The centric quick lock

and sideshift function enable the centre position to be

reproduced exactly. Extra powerful magnets in the upper

and lower members retain the pin plates. All components

are manufactured and assembled highly precisely.

The Artigator is robust, will not distort and is guaranteed

to be long lasting.

HANDLING

CENTRIC QUICK LOCK

a) Opening the centric quick lock

Place your thumb on the grooved area and press

the lock upwards. The head of the condyle is then

loose in the condylar path and the upper member

of the Artigator can be moved backwards. The lock

prevents the upper member from falling out.

b) Removing the upper member of the Artigator

Open the centric quick lock, push the upper member

back fully and hold it in this position.

Use your other hand to press the lock down

(close the centric). The upper member of the

Artigator can then be removed backwards.

PROCEDURE

Replace the incisal guidance pin with the incisal pin (2).

Lock the sideshift adjuster and position the impression

correctly on the Artigator where possible, the space

between the tray and Artigator should be the same

all round. The pin plate sleeves are easily positioned

properly (3). lf the space between the pin plate and

Artigator is too narrow, carefully trim any excess

material off the impression with a scalpel. Remove the

pin plates from the Artigator and spray them and the

sleeves with the separating agent supplied. (4) Coat

them thoroughly with separating agent and allow

it to take effect. Then blow the surface dry. Cast the

impression as usual with type 4 high strength dental

stone (5). Fill the first pin plate with a sufficient amount

the Artigator and wait until the stone is slightly viscous

(7). Locate the dual arch impression tray correctly

. Ensure that a small

amount of stone remains on the edge of the pin plate

sleeve (app. 8 mm height) so that later on the dental

arch releases easily from the pin plate. Allow the stone

to set and cast the opposite side using the same

procedure. Wait until this stone is also viscous and close

the Artigator. lt is advisable to turn the Artigator upside

down on the bench top for this procedure (9). Once

the stone has set fully, remove the impression from the

Artigator and release it carefully (10). To facilitate

releasing the model from the model pin, place it (pin

plate upwards) in the sleeve and tap it gently on the

bench top (11 - 14). Trim the dental arch carefully

(except the bottom) and section as required with a saw

(15 - 16). Complete casting the model as shown in

pictures (17 - 19).

lmportant:

Adhere strictly to the stone manufacturer's

mixing ratios to ensure that the optimum expansion

values are attained (to achieve optimum friction

between the stone and pin plate). Epoxy resins must

not be used.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

The Artigator is maintenance-free. As the Artigator

is a high precision unit, it must only be steam-cleaned

(e.g. with an AmannGirrbach–Steamer). It should be

cleaned as gently as possible and without using solvents.

The Artigator wilI function long term without the use

of lubricant. Do not allow it to contact powerful acids or

clean it in an ultrasonic unit.

operated as described in the instructions.

damage which occurs if used for other purposes or

if not used according to the instructions .

listed in the user's manual, the user is obliged to check

personally in advance that the unit is suitable for

this purpose.
