Planing:
1.
Switch on the engine.
2.
Move the workpiece carefully straight across the feed
table desk using the feed handle.
3.
When planing small sides, push the workpiece against
the stop and table desk and move it across the feed
table desk using both hands, your fist clenched, or the
feed handle.
4.
First try the pressure on the workpiece on the taking
table desk.
5.
Switch off the machine if you do not carry on with the
work straight away.
Chamfering:
1.
Put the workpiece against the stop adjusted at an
oblique angle.
2.
Adjust the knife guard so as it is directly touching the
workpiece and tighten the detent bolt.
3.
Push the workpiece against the stop and taking table
desk with your fist clenched or using the feed handle.
4.
Push the workpiece across the feed table desk with your
second hand or using the feed handle.
5.
Switch off the machine if you do not carry on with the
work straight away.
Thicknessing
The purpose of thicknessing is to plane a workpiece with flat
planed surface even thinner. The flat planed side lies on the
planing table. The feed direction is left to right. Shorten that
only after planing as there is projection at the beginning and
end when thicknessing.
Preparation:
Always disconnect the plug before adjusting!
Exhaust equipment assembly:
1.
Adjust the guide stop (pic. 1/1) to 90°.
2.
Fir the exhaust nozzle on the levelling desk. Now insert
two mountings in the table desk holes.
3.
Release the table lever (pic. 12/a) to turn the table over.
1.
Make sure the thicknessing machine lever is set to the
upper fixed position (pic. 13/A).
2.
Set the planing thickness. The machine may plane off
not more than 2 mm in one passing. However, this value
is only recommended for:
-
sharp planing knives
-
soft wood
-
if the planed piece width is less than the maximum
width
3.
Switch on the engine.
4.
Insert the planed material slowly and straight as per the
arrow. It will automatically be pulled in by the machine.
5.
Switch the engine off if the material is not going to be
planed immediately.
Dust and shavings exhaust
The levelling and thicknessing machine makes dust that limits
visibility and partially harms health. Therefore, the splinter and
sawdust bag must always be fitted to the exhaust connection.
The engine only runs if the exhaust nozzle has been fitted
properly, which releases the safety switch.
Maintenance and cleaning
Switch off the engine and pull the plug out of socket
before any maintenance and cleaning.
To ensure the appliance works properly, these instructions
need to be followed:
•
Do not spray water on the appliance
•
Remove shavings and dust by a brush or vacuum
cleaner
•
Make sure there is no rust and resin on the transport
rollers.
•
Remove resin remains from the table desk surface,
cutting roller and parts attached to it by a common
maintenance and curing spray. The clamping
mechanism, knife holders and knives can be put in
paraffin, petrol or any other common agent for 24 hours
to remove resin.
•
Apply a thin layer of slide way (slide spray Waxilit #
55085) on the feed, taking and planing table desk.
•
Always replace both planing knives or have them
sharpened if you notice they are blunt after they have
been used several times or on a long-term basis. Planing
knives can be sharpened only within the height of 15
mm.
•
The splinter and sawdust bag needs to be regularly and
properly emptied. The bag should be manually washed
in fine soap solution if dirty or at least once a year.
The safety devices that have been removed due to
maintenance and cleaning must unconditionally be fitted
again and checked.
Replacement of knives:
Pull the plug out of socket and wear gloves when
replacing or sharpening the planing knives! Both planing
knives must always be sharpened or replaced.
1.
Set the guide stop (pic. 1/11) to 90°.
2.
Remove the knife guard from the table desk.
3.
Loosen the clamping screw nuts if they cannot be seen
and carefully turn the cutting roller with a piece of wood.
4.
Remove the clamping mechanism and knife.
5.
Now clean all parts.
6.
Fit the clamping mechanism with a freshly sharpened
knife.
7.
Knife levelling:
•
Put the planing knife gauge (pic. 1/3) on the taking
table desk.
•
Press the gauge tightly; make sure the gauge edge
matches the taking table desk edge.
•
Tighten the clamping screws, from inside out.
8.
Remove the second cutting roller knife, too, even if not
blunt.
9.
Lower the knife guard through the cutting roller.
Gearbox maintenance:
1.
Unscrew the gearbox housing cap nuts and both Phillip
screws.
2.
Remove the gearbox housing.
3.
Remove the wood dust and shavings by the shavings
exhaust or brush.
4.
Finely spray the roller chain and pulley bearings with
maintenance and curing spray. Never use fat!
5.
Fit the gearbox housing again.
Any wilful changes to the surface planer and thicknesser
exclude the producer's guarantee for indirect damaged of any
sort.
