•
Always keep you workplace clean.
•
Make sure the surface planer and thicknesser are not
exposed to moisture.
•
Always ensure good visibility.
•
Using the appliance near flammable liquids and gases
prohibited.
•
Connect the appliance to the dust or shavings exhaust.
•
Never leave the appliance unattended.
•
The appliance must not be operated by persons under 18
years of age. Store the appliance in a locked place, out of
reach of children.
•
Use the appliance only when safety devices are
completely and properly in place.
•
Do not make any changes to the appliance that could
negatively affect its safety.
•
Make sure you can keep balance all the time. Stand
sideways to the appliance. If the appliance is in operation,
keep your hands in a safe distance from the cutting roller
and shavings output.
•
Remove all nails and other metal objects from the
workpiece before planing. Moreover, make sure there are
no cables, ropes, lines, etc. in the workpiece. Do not
machine wood with lots of knots and knot holes.
•
Start planing only after the cutting roller has the
necessary revolutions.
•
Make sure the planing knives are not blunt.
•
A cutting roller that is not used must always be covered
by the knife guard.
•
Use a faultless piece of feed wood or faultless feed rod for
machining of short workpieces.
•
Never remove any free splinters, shavings, etc. with your
hand. Always connect the dust or shavings exhaust.
•
Make always sure the feed roller and cutting tools do not
contain shavings and wood meal.
•
Clean the appliance properly if you are going to store it for
a longer time.
Electric safety
•
Prevent any body contact with grounded parts and protect
yourself against electric shock.
•
If you want to pull the plug out of socket, do not pull the
cable.
•
Check regularly the cables and have them replaced by a
professional if damaged.
•
When putting the feeder cable to another place, make
sure it is not cut across, jammed, broken or lay in wet.
•
Use the appliance only with RCD (30 mA).
•
Repairs on the appliance can only be provided by a
qualified electrician or our repair service centre.
•
Original spare parts and accessories can only be used. If
any other spare parts are used, there might be injuries for
which the producer bears no responsibility.
•
The feeder cable plug must be protected against spraying
water.
Transport
•
Pull the plug out of socket before any transport.
•
The knife guard must fully cover the cutting roller.
•
Do not carry the appliance with the feed or taking table;
just grab it beneath the appliance.
•
The surface planer and thicknesser can only be changed,
used and maintained by persons instructed in possible
risks.
•
Repairs can only be executed by our Company or
customer service centres known to us.
•
The appliance must not be used in environments with a
risk of explosion and it must not be exposed to rain.
Residual risks
There still might be some residual risks even if the appliance
is used properly and all safety rules are observed.
Existing risks:
•
finger and hand injury caused by contact with the knife in
uncovered areas when changing the tool, fingers getting
jammed when opening the guard,
•
electric hazard if electric cables have not been
connected properly,
•
hearing damage due to long-term working without ear
protectors
•
There may be harmful wood dust when the machine is
operated without exhaust or without the splinter and
sawdust bag in place.
There might even be hidden residual risks despite following
the Operating Instructions.
