Before starting up
Read unconditionally the entire Operating
Instructions before starting the appliance up!
Check the following before using the appliance:
Any damaged parts of the feeder cables
Whether the unused cutting roll is covered by knife guard
Whether on and off switches are in operation
Whether the moving parts and guards work perfectly and
do not drag or whether the parts are not damaged.
Back impact safety guard
Planing knives
 Planing knives must be sharp and tightly fitted
Pull-off roller
Feeding and taking table
Have the cable and any damage removed by an
authorised professional
Whether all fastening screws are tightened.
Whether knives are correctly fixed to the cutting roller.
Apply a thin layer of slide way (you can use slide spray Waxilit
# 55085).
The appliance meets EN 61000-3-11 requirements and
is subject to special connection conditions. That means
that use on optionally selected connection points is
inadmissible.
The appliance can lead to occasional voltage
fluctuations under unfavourable power conditions.
The appliance is only designated to be used for
connection points not exceeding the maximum allowed
impedance of Z
= 0,233 Ω.

As a user, you must make sure your connection point on
which you want to use the appliance meets the above-
mentioned requirements – after agreement with your
electricity supplier if necessary.
Assembly
Support (pic. 2)
Screw the support together using 12 socket-head
screws.
Fit the levelling and thicknessing machine on the
support with the help of another person.
Fix the levelling and thicknessing machine on the
support using socket-head screws.
Now mount the machine to the floor using four screws.
Guide stop (pic. 3)
Insert the board (B) in the guide mechanism and
position it as required.
Secure the guide stop using a clamping screw (A).
Use a clamping level to adjust the stop angle (C).
Exhaustion
Fit the exhaust hose (pic. 1/3) and fix it using the hose
clip.
Connect the exhaust nozzle (pic. 1/9) with the exhaust
hose (pic. 1/3) and tighten the hose clip firmly.
Now fit the splinter and sawdust box (pic. 1/1) on the
exhaust throat (pic. 4). To fix it, use the hose clip and
insert the bag to the exhaust outlet.
After using the appliance
Check the following after each use:
Inside of the appliance
 Remove the wood dust and shavings once a month if
you use the appliance every day
Exhaust attachment
Feeder cable
Set the minimum cutting size after using the appliance to
prevent risk of injury.
Putting into operation
Connection:
Connect the appliance to corresponding and appropriately
grounded socket. Use feeder or extension cables with wire
cross section of at least 1.5 mm².
Only for product No. 55059
Engine rotation must necessarily be respected (see
the arrow).
All warranty claims will not be considered if rotation
is not respected. Change the rotation direction by
reversing plug polarity if necessary. See the picture
(only for A.C. models)!
Contact a specialised service centre if facing
problems.
Do not use the machine if it cannot be switched on or
off using the switch. A damaged switch must immediately
be repaired or replaced in the service centre.
Switching-on (pic. 5):
1.
Press the green button on the switch. In case of power
outage, the appliance switches off automatically. If you
want to switch the appliance on again, press the green
button again.
Switching-off (pic. 5):
1.
Press the red button on the drop lid.
Safety switch (No. 5):
In emergency cases, the levelling and thicknessing machine
can be switched off by pressing the safety switch (pic. 3/b).
Engine protection (only 230V) (pic. 5):
The engine is fitted with a breaker and switches off
automatically when overloaded.
The appliance can be switched on again after cooling down
(app. 5-10 min):
1.
Press the red button
2.
Small button next to the switch (pic. 5 /a).
3.
Green button for switching-on.
Blanking
Blanking is used for planing uneven surface into smooth.

Preparation:

Always disconnect the plug before any adjustment work!
Dust extractor installation:
1.
Fit the crank (pic. 1/4) to the block end at the table desk
and rotate counter-clockwise to enable the planing table
to get to the lowest position.
2.
Insert the exhaust nozzle under the guide table desk
(pic. 16+17). Insert two carriage mountings in the table
desk holes.
Guide stop adjusting (pic. 3):
1.
Loosen the detent lever. If the lever cannot be turned
properly, pull the arm head out and turn it back.
2.
Turn the guide stop to the required angle that can be
read on the angular scale (pic. 1/10).
3.
Tighten the detent lever.
Planing depth adjusting (pic. 8):
1.
Turn the working depth adjustment screw.
2.
Working depth can be read on the working depth scale.
Knife guard adjusting:
1.
Put the workpiece to the guide stop (pic. 1/11).
2.
Loosen the detent bolt.
3.
Flat workpieces (<75 mm):
Push the knife guard up to the guide stop and lift it as
per workpiece thickness. Insert the workpiece slightly
under the knife guard and lower the guard.
4.
High workpieces (>75 mm):
Lower the knife guard to the table desk and workpiece.
