g) Modifying the Steering Directions
Your remote control is tuned exactly to your double rotor helicopter ex works.
However, if during trimming you notice that your model responds opposite to the control functions described for some
control functions, you can switch the direction for reaction of each individual control function at the transmitter.
For this purpose, there are four reverse switches on the front of the transmitter (see figure 1, item 6). The switches are
assigned the following functions:
Switch
Function
1
Tail Function
2
Pitch Function
3
Nod function
4
Roll Function
To switch over a steering function, first disconnect the flight battery in the helicopter, then switch off the transmitter and
push the corresponding reverse switch in the other position.
Now you can switch on the transmitter again, connect the flight battery and check the correct function direction at the
helicopter.
h) Practical Advice for the First Hover Flights
Your model helicopter in now ready for the first test flights and you can start training. However, even with flight training,
you should definitely keep in mind some basic things.
• For hover flight training, the tail of the helicopter must always point in your direction.
• To start, lift the helicopter approx. 20 – 30 cm from the ground, in order to be able to have it touch down quickly in
case of an emergency landing.
• In case of an emergency landing, do not retract the pitch stick too quickly, as the helicopter will touch down very hard.
• If the rotors are blocked by an obstacle, then pull the Pitch stick immediately in the lowest position in order to switch
off the drive motors.
• A the start location, draw a marking on the ground and try maintaining the helicopter hovering over the marking.
Attention!
If you notice after a few minutes that the motor power of your helicopter is decreasing, then stop operation
immediately; let the flight battery cool then charge it again. Avoid, in any case, a total discharge of the
helicopter battery.
